ERSEA Certification
After bringing state-of-the-art training to the Head Start industry nationwide, HGJA now offers an ERSEA Certification process for individuals and Head Start programs.

We were the first to bring you nationwide ERSEA trainings with a comprehensive manual that gathered the fragmented rules and regulations into one easy-to-learn system. HGJA continues to bring you state-of-the-art ERSEA learning opportunities that build competency and professionalism.
The ERSEA Certification process will assist both individuals and programs to improve their ability to understand, put into practice, and manage their local ERSEA system. Individuals and programs that complete the certification process will increase their efficiency and effectiveness for improving access to services to eligible children and families. Two competency-based certifications are available.
Individual Certification
The individual program builds critical competencies for staff who lead or support steps within the ERSEA process. Individuals who complete the certification process increase their skills, knowledge, and capabilities and demonstrate their commitment to ensuring access to Head Start services for qualified children and their families. Individuals must complete all three ERSEA level trainings within one twelve-month period as well as a review and exam.
Organizational Certification
Organizations that complete the program are designated ERSEA Organizations of Excellence, based on their capabilities as well as commitment to ensuring access to Head Start services for qualified young children. The certification process begins with an organizational risk assessment and includes comprehensive training, evaluation, and follow-up monitoring.
